About VÖSI
The Association of the Austrian Software Innovation (VÖSI) is an interest group of the most important Austrian IT companies. Founded in 1986, around 50 large and medium-sized software and IT service companies are organized in the VÖSI. Without a healthy software industry, Austria as a business location would be in danger of becoming an extended workbench for more innovative countries. The Association of the Austrian Software Innovation offers an anchoring in the IT scene for all members. Networking and the timely recognition of trends and topics are important tasks within the VÖSI. The VÖSI also offers itself as a discussion platform for industry topics for its members and a qualified public.
What does VÖSI do for its members?
The Austrian Software Innovation Association (VÖSI) has made it its mission to promote software and related services offered by Austrian companies in Austria. It is a primary concern of the association to strengthen Austria as a business location in the interest of its members and the economy and administration, thereby securing the long-term growth of the software industry.
The software industry is one of the most environmentally friendly industries with high domestic added value. With a direct and indirect share of 4.9% of Austria's gross domestic product (GDP), it is one of the country's key industries (source METIS). Therefore, lobbying for this industry and networking within this industry is an important issue to strengthen the associated companies. The members of VÖSI have recognised this and are committed to the cause. VÖSI, together with its combined forces, gives a common voice to an entire industry. For a healthy growth also legal basic conditions, the suitable training places and infrastructural and job-related conditions are necessary.
